The Drolet Bora (DE00401) is a stainless-steel outdoor fireplace in a tall four-sided tower form, standing 60 1/2" high on a 20 1/4" x 20 1/4" base, assembled from bolted panels with supplied hardware.
The Bora is identified on the current official Drolet support record as the stainless-steel Bora outdoor fireplace, model DE00401, in the outdoor-fireplace category. The exact drawing shows a tall four-sided tower with a lower open section for the fire, a body that tapers toward a 10 1/4" square top, and a perforated top component detailed with 1/2" x 1/2" openings. These are physical design characteristics from the official drawing; the current exact documents do not publish a stainless-steel grade, sheet thickness, coating specification, weight, or any performance characteristic, so none is claimed here.
The exact 2022-04-21 official assembly document shows a multi-stage bolted assembly: individually numbered principal body panels and additional components are joined in sequence using the supplied fasteners and nuts, tightened with the supplied 5/32" hex key. The Bora must be assembled according to the exact manufacturer diagram before use; consult the official assembly document for the full sequence rather than relying on any summary. The official documents do not publish an assembly time or crew size, and no such promise is made here.

The exact official DE00401 drawing publishes these thirteen callouts. The manufacturer prints slightly different metric figures for identical rounded imperial values in different views - 10 1/4" appears as both 261 mm and 262 mm, and 16" appears as 410 mm, 407 mm, and 403 mm for different physical references - and those exact printed values are preserved without harmonizing or recalculating them. No volume, capacity, footprint area, opening area, weight, clearance, or log-size value is calculated or implied from these dimensions.
This is an outdoor fireplace. The current exact DE00401 documents do not publish numerical clearances, approved placement surfaces, overhead-clearance values, fuel instructions, log sizes, operating or extinguishing instructions, or certification standards, so no such value is stated here and none should be assumed - including for any specific surface. Placement, fuel, operation, outdoor-burning rules, permits, and burn restrictions must be confirmed with Drolet and the applicable local authority having jurisdiction before use, and the manufacturer’s exact documentation and applicable local requirements govern where and how the fireplace may be used. An open outdoor fire should never be treated as contained or left without supervision in conflict with those requirements.
Drolet publishes a paint touch-up procedure for its outdoor fireplaces: clean the surface using a smooth, dry cloth; gently sand the repair area using #180 sandpaper or #000 (very fine) steel wool without applying too much pressure; clean the surface again; shake the spray-paint can vigorously before and during application; spray from approximately 10 to 12 inches away; apply thin coats and allow approximately 15 minutes of drying between coats, without attempting to complete the repair on the first coat; and if more than two coats are needed, heat the appliance and allow it to cool so the existing paint cures before applying another coat. Do not apply paint while the appliance surface exceeds 100°F (38°C). This procedure is care guidance only and does not establish the original paint type, color, or rating; the outdoor-fireplace warranty separately recommends high-temperature stove or barbecue paint to preserve appearance.
Drolet’s history began with François-Xavier Drolet’s Quebec workshop in 1875, with slow-combustion stove production beginning in the 1960s. Drolet states that its appliances are manufactured in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures near Quebec City.
The manufacturer supports owners through its official DE00401 support record, replacement-parts resources, and technical support.
