Our team is certified by the National Fireplace Institute, the certification agency for gas, wood, and pellet hearth professionals.

Appliance installation

Performed by our partner general contractor, based in Columbus, Ohio, for the appliances we sell.

Installations are quoted individually after a walk-through of the install location, since venting, clearances, framing, and hearth requirements differ from home to home.

Call to inquire

Service calls are billed per van. The $200 minimum covers the first two hours. Time beyond two hours is billed at $100 per hour, rounded up to the next full hour. Time begins the moment the technician is dispatched and stops when we leave your home. Service calls within 25 miles of Logan carry no travel charge; beyond 25 miles, travel is billed in addition to the hourly rate. Parts are charged separately.

A Level II inspection is required for all first-time sweeps. That service covers the firebox, flue, cap, and all visible components of the chimney system.

Distances are measured from Logan, Ohio to your address. Maintenance visits and sweeps do not include the cost of replacement parts — if parts are needed, those charges are additional and will be explained to you before the work is done. Sales tax is not included in the rates above. Pricing is current as of the 2026–2027 season and is subject to change; the rate quoted when you schedule is the rate that applies to your visit.

Choosing a service

Which inspection do I need?

Level I

An examination of the firebox and the appliance itself.

Appropriate when nothing about your system has changed and it has been in regular use.

Level II

An examination of all readily visible components of the system — firebox, flue, cap, and the visible portions of the chimney.

Required for all first-time sweeps. Commonly requested when a home is being bought or sold, or after a change to the system.

Level III

An examination of visible and concealed components of the system, which may require opening up parts of the structure.

Priced individually. Call us to discuss what your situation calls for.

Need something that isn't on the rate card? The services listed on this page are the ones we perform. If what you need isn't there, call us at (740) 270-6700 — we'll tell you honestly whether it's something we do, and point you in the right direction if it isn't.

New appliances

Installation

Installation of the appliances we sell is performed by the general contractor we work with, based in Columbus, Ohio. Installation is not a flat rate, because the cost depends on your venting, clearances, hearth protection, framing, gas or electrical work, and the layout of the room.

Ask about installation before you buy, not after. A walk-through of the install location tells you two things worth knowing up front: what the installation will actually cost, and which components your chosen appliance will require. It can also flag an appliance that is a poor fit for the space before you have paid for it.

To start, send us a request or call (740) 270-6700 and we will arrange the walk-through and get you a quote.

Deposit

Installations require a deposit to schedule. The amount is stated on your quote, so you'll know it before you commit.

Permits

If a permit is required where you live, pulling it is the homeowner's responsibility. Requirements vary by county and township, so check with your local building department.

Questions we get

Frequently asked questions

Do you sweep chimneys?

Yes. Wood-burning sweeps are performed in-house by our own team, at the rates shown above. A Level II inspection is required with a first-time sweep, and existing customers can book a sweep on its own after that.

Why does a first-time sweep cost more?

Because a first sweep includes a Level II inspection. We have not seen your system before, so we examine the firebox, flue, cap, and all visible components of the chimney rather than only cleaning it. After that first visit, existing customers can book a sweep on its own.

What counts as a "new" versus an "existing" customer?

A new customer is someone who has never worked with us before. An existing customer is someone who has purchased from us, or used us for service of some kind, within the last 12 months.

How is my distance tier determined?

By the distance from Logan, Ohio to your service address. Up to 25 miles is our local rate, 25 to 60 miles falls into the second tier, and anything beyond 60 miles is quoted individually — call us and we will let you know what we can do.

Are replacement parts included in a maintenance visit or sweep?

No. Maintenance visits and sweeps cover labor. If a part needs replacing — a gasket, a glass panel, an igniter, a motor — that is an additional charge, and we will go over it with you before we do the work. This applies to gas, pellet, and wood-burning service alike.

Is sales tax included in the prices listed?

No. The rates on this page are before sales tax.

How does the hourly rate on a service call work?

There is a $200 minimum, which covers the first two hours. After that, time is billed at $100 per hour, rounded up to the next full hour — so a visit that runs 2 hours and 15 minutes bills as 3 hours. The rate is per van, not per technician. The clock starts when the technician is dispatched and stops when we leave your home. If you are within 25 miles of Logan there is no travel charge; past 25 miles, travel is added to the hourly rate. Parts are billed separately.

Do you do work that isn't listed on this page?

The services on our rate card are the ones we perform. If what you need isn't listed, call us at (740) 270-6700 and we'll let you know whether it's something we handle.

Do I have to buy my appliance from you to book service?

No. We service appliances that weren't purchased from us. Call us at (740) 270-6700 with the make and model and we'll get you scheduled. Note that our rates distinguish between new and existing customers, so your first visit with us falls under the new customer column.

How can I pay?

Credit card, check, ACH, or cash. If you already have an invoice from us, you can settle it through the Pay My Invoice portal.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Not for service work. Installations do require a deposit, and the amount is stated on your quote before you commit to anything.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Call us at least 24 hours before your appointment and we'll move it. The earlier you call, the better the chance we can get you a slot that works.

Do you guarantee your work?

Our labor is covered for six months. If something we worked on isn't right, call us.

My appliance is still under manufacturer warranty. Can you help?

Yes — we process warranty claims. Have your model and serial number handy when you call, along with your proof of purchase if you have it.

Who pulls the permit for an installation?

The homeowner. If a permit is required where you live, obtaining it is your responsibility. Requirements differ from one county and township to the next, so check with your local building department before installation day.

Should I ask about installation before I buy, or after?

Before. A walk-through of the install location lets our contractor identify the components your installation will require and quote the work accurately — and it can reveal that a different appliance is a better fit for your space before you have committed to one.

Is professional installation required?

It is not required in order to buy from us, but we strongly recommend it. A hearth appliance that is installed incorrectly can fail to perform, can damage itself, and can put your household at risk from smoke or carbon monoxide. If you do plan to install it yourself, read the manufacturer's manual in full first and check what your local jurisdiction requires.

Can I get my appliance installed if I don't live in Southeastern Ohio?

Yes. We ship throughout the continental United States. Tell us where the appliance is going and we will help you find a qualified professional in your area, or you can search the NFI and CSIA directories directly.

My appliance stopped working. What should I do?

If you are in our service area, send us a service request or call (740) 270-6700. Tell us the make, model, fuel type, what it is doing, and when it started — the more detail we have, the better the chance our technician arrives with the right part on the van.
