The Drolet ECO-55 heats 500–2,000 ft² with a 60 lb hopper, up to 51 hours of burn time, a 176 CFM blower included, and 0.96 g/h average particulate emissions.
The ECO-55 is intended for residential supplementary heating. It is not a central-heating furnace, must not be connected to air-distribution ductwork, and must not share a venting system serving another appliance. Installation must follow the certification label, the current installation and operation manuals, the pellet-vent instructions, and applicable local requirements.
The top-feed system delivers pellets from the 60 lb hopper to the burn pot, with a published burn rate of 1.2–4.7 lb/h and a maximum heat input rate of 39,260 BTU/h. The published minimum and maximum overall heat output rates are 6,648 BTU/h and 28,540 BTU/h.
The manufacturer publishes that maintenance components are removable without tools for routine cleaning access. Maintenance must follow the current operation manual.
The stove uses an electronic control panel and supports thermostatic control as established by the manufacturer. Ignition draws an average of 3.02 A (360 W), and continuous operation draws 1.3–2.5 A (51–140 W) on a 120 VAC / 60 Hz supply. Pellet fuel must be premium grade or better. The optional hopper extension, sold separately, extends the published maximum burn time from the standard 51 hours to up to 120 hours; the standard configuration remains 51 hours.

A listed pellet-vent system or compliant lined chimney meeting the standards above is required and is not included. The stove must not share an existing venting system serving another appliance, and a flue damper must not be installed in the exhaust system. A grounded 120 V / 60 Hz electrical outlet is required, and the power cord must not be routed under, in front of, or over the stove. Bedroom installation is not recommended, and the stove must not be installed in a sleeping room in a mobile or manufactured home.
Mobile-home installation is approved only with a fresh-air intake: connection to outside combustion air is mandatory, and the fresh-air kit is sold separately. The stove must be secured to the structure, the structural integrity of the floor, walls, and roof or ceiling must be maintained, and the vent system must meet the applicable listed standards for mobile and manufactured homes.
The information on the certification label affixed to the appliance always overrides information published in any other media. Some appliances have been tested with a low ceiling; refer to the current installation manual before setting up the unit. The manual also recommends larger access clearances for maintenance, which are separate from the certified minimums below.

The stove must be installed on continuous approved noncombustible floor protection. Follow the current manual diagram, material requirements, certification label, and applicable local requirements. The manual’s D reference defers to the pellet-vent manufacturer’s combustible-clearance instructions for the vent system.
