This heat shield is designed to lower the minimum height needed between the base of a fireplace and a combustible shelf when installing a zero-clearance fireplace. It fits beneath the shelf and can accommodate shelf depths ranging from 6 inches (152 mm) to 12 inches (305 mm), and lengths of up to 84 inches (2.1 m).
