A Medium-Size EPA-Certified Wood Stove with Reduced-Clearance Side Panels

Of medium size, the Drolet Blackcomb II heats 500–1,800 ft² with up to 65,000 BTU/h, equipped with side panels to reduce clearances to combustible materials and a top air deflector to boost air movement through the room.

Key Features

  • Recommended heating area of 500–1,800 ft² with up to 65,000 BTU/h maximum heat output
  • EPA 2020 certified non-catalytic combustion at 2.4 g/h particulate emissions
  • 1.86 ft³ overall firebox accepting logs up to 18" with up to 7 hours of burn time
  • Side panels reduce clearances to combustible materials
  • Top air deflector boosts air movement through the room
  • Heavy duty 5/16" steel top reinforced with a stainless steel heat shield
  • Included pedestal with ash drawer, top air deflector, ceramic glass, side panels, ash lip, and air damper

Product Features

Heating Performance for 500–1,800 Square Feet

Rated to heat 500 to 1,800 ft², the Blackcomb II provides up to 65,000 BTU/h of maximum heat output from its 1.86 ft³ firebox, subject to installation and operating conditions.

EPA 2020 Certified Clean Combustion

This non-catalytic stove is EPA 2020 approved with an average particulate emission rate of 2.4 g/h and uses a stainless steel secondary-air system to support more complete combustion.

Reduced Clearances with Factory Side Panels

Integrated side panels reduce the required clearances to combustible materials — the published side wall clearance is 10" — helping this medium-size stove fit installations where wall spacing is limited, when installed per the owner's manual.

Top Air Deflector for Better Air Movement

The included top air deflector boosts air movement through the room, and an optional blower can be added for further circulation.

East-West Firebox with 18" Log Capacity

The 19 5/8" wide firebox loads over its width, accepts logs up to 18", and provides up to 7 hours of maximum burn time under applicable operating conditions.

Pedestal Base with Ash Drawer

The included pedestal integrates an ash drawer for simpler cleanup, and the glass airwash system helps keep the 15 3/4" x 9 3/4" ceramic glass clearer for a better view of the fire.

Certified Installation Versatility

The Blackcomb II is certified for alcove installation and for mobile homes when equipped with a fresh air intake, installed according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Manufacturer Notes

  • Recommended heating area and maximum burn time may vary with location in the home, chimney draft, heat loss factors, climate, fuel type, and other variables.
  • Maximum heat output (dry cordwood) is based on a loading density of 15–20 lb/ft³; other performance figures are based on the standard test fuel load of 7–12 lb/ft³ at 19–25% moisture content.
  • Efficiency values are measured per the CSA B415.1-10 stack loss method; optimum heat transfer efficiency reflects the low burn rate (HHV).
  • Any installation must be done according to the data and drawings detailed in the owner’s manual.
