Product Features

TruHybrid™ Combustion Technology

The Lincoln 8060 uses HearthStone's TruHybrid™ system, which combines primary and secondary combustion with tertiary combustion through a catalytic combustor. The stainless steel catalytic combustor becomes active at approximately 500°F (260°C) and burns smoke and remaining particles that were not fully consumed in the firebox. A bypass rod routes combustion products around the catalyst during startup and reloading, and a catalyst thermometer indicates when the stove is in the active range. HearthStone states that when the catalyst is active and fully functional, there should be little to no visible smoke from the chimney.

Soapstone and Cast Iron Construction

Full soapstone and cast iron construction absorbs the high heat of the fire and radiates gentle, long-lasting warmth into the room. Soapstone warms the objects in the room rather than just the air, and HearthStone's cast iron parts are produced at the company's own foundry in Spain. The large glass window allows fire viewing from a variety of locations in the room.

Compact Log-Burner Design

The Lincoln was designed as a traditional log burner that is simple to use, easy to maintain, and sized for small living spaces. It burns full-size cordwood but fits in tight spaces, and HearthStone positions it for cabins, accessory dwelling units, and smaller rooms within a home. Optional heat shields clip onto either side and the back of the stove so it can be placed closer to walls and tucked into corners.

Enameled Cook Plate and Sliding Catalyst System

The square plate on the top of the stove is finished with HearthStone's food-grade enamel, which makes it practical for warming things up and easy to clean. The catalyst rides on a sliding sled: the bypass rod slides it into position once the fire is hot, and the slide system helps you remember to engage the catalyst for a clean burn. With the cook plate removed, the catalyst is accessible for inspection, cleaning, and service.

Everyday Operation

A wood-handled front door provides loading access, and a single primary air control lever under the ash lip regulates the burn rate from high to low. The manufacturer-set minimum low burn rate must not be altered. The primary air control, bypass rod, and catalyst thermometer are the stove's operating controls, and fireplace gloves are recommended when the stove is hot.

Heating Performance

The Lincoln delivers up to 23,000 BTU per hour of maple cordwood and heats up to a maximum of 575 square feet. Factors unique to the home, including insulation value, number and efficiency of windows, floor plan, stove placement, and fuel quality, can reduce the square footage the stove will heat. The stove requires a chimney draft between 0.06" and 0.1" water column, verified at installation.

Clearances and Hearth Requirements

The values below are from the current Lincoln 8060 owner's and installation manual (revision 11/10/25). Reduced side clearances require the HearthStone side heat shield, kit 90-68605, installed on each shielded side; reduced rear clearances require the rear heat shield, kit 90-68601. Heat shields can be installed individually to reduce the required distance to the wall being shielded. Close-clearance connector pipe must be tested to UL standards and listed; double-wall figures published by HearthStone are specific to Simpson Dura-Vent DVL and may vary with other brands. The manual publishes clearances both for the stove body and for the chimney connector, and the tables below state which one each row measures: stove-body rows are measured from the cast body of the stove to the combustible wall, and chimney-connector rows are measured from the connector pipe to the combustible wall. Both must be satisfied in an installation. As a general rule, keep furniture, drapes, wood, paper, and other combustibles at least 36" (92 cm) away from the stove.

The clearances below apply to parallel and corner installations; the manual publishes the same values for single-wall and double-wall connector pipe in these configurations.

Through-the-rear-wall flue exit (elbow atop the stove to a rear wall exit)

The values below apply to through-the-rear-wall installations with a single-wall connector, and include both the stove-body and the chimney-connector clearances for each shield configuration. For double-wall connectors, use the chimney-connector clearance table that follows and refer to the connector pipe's certification where the manual directs, rather than the single-wall values.

The manual separately publishes the clearance from the rear combustible wall to the vertical chimney connector rising from the flue collar, and the clearance from the rear wall for the through-the-wall exit arrangement with no vertical pipe. Where the table shows check pipe certification, use the clearance established by the double-wall connector manufacturer's listing instead of a single-wall value.

Single-wall connector pipe requires a minimum of 18" of clearance to the ceiling. For double-wall connector pipe, follow the connector manufacturer's ceiling-clearance specifications.

Hearth and floor protection

Combustible flooring must be protected with a covering of noncombustible material, such as a continuous layer of tile, brick, slate, or glass. The Lincoln 8060 does not require an insulated hearth pad and there is no R-value requirement; hearth pad coverage is for ember protection. The minimum floor protection for United States installations is 27½" x 37½", and the minimum floor protection for installations in Canada is 30" (762 mm) x 47½" (1206 mm), with the stove positioned on the pad as shown in the hearth diagram in the owner's manual. Rooms with luxury vinyl plank or luxury vinyl tile flooring require extra consideration, because some of these floorings begin to warp at 110°F; consult the flooring manufacturer, as additional shielding may be necessary.

Warranty

HearthStone warrants the appliance to the original retail purchaser only, when purchased by that purchaser and installed by an authorized HearthStone dealer or their designated representative, against defects in material or workmanship. Coverage begins on the date of the original invoice and is not transferable to subsequent owners.

Warranty periods differ by component. HearthStone defines the term "Limited Lifetime" as 10 years from the beginning of warranty coverage, and applies it to the stone, to cast iron not listed elsewhere, and to the clean-burning air supply system. Door handles and latches and steel components and the firebox carry a 5-year period. Appliance electrical components and refractory, vermiculite panels, and baffles carry a 2-year period. Enamel finish against peeling or fading, glass, accessories, and all components not listed elsewhere carry a 1-year period. The catalytic combustor is covered directly by the combustor manufacturer, Applied Ceramics, under a separate limited warranty that provides free replacement within two years of purchase and prorated replacement pricing thereafter.

HearthStone pays for warranty labor performed by an authorized dealer during the first year after the purchase date only when the appliance was installed by an authorized dealer or their designated representative; otherwise, and thereafter, labor is the purchaser's responsibility. Exclusions include over-firing, improper installation or operation, service by anyone other than an authorized dealer, use of unapproved fuels or components, water and corrosion damage, and normal wear parts such as paint, gaskets, baffles, refractory materials, ash grates, and glass. Surface and hairline cracks and scratches in the stone that do not affect operation or safety are excluded, and HearthStone's obligation does not extend to the appliance's ability to heat a desired space.
