  • 76% HHV efficiency — among the highest of any single-lever wood stove
  • Biomass Tax Credit qualified for the 30% U.S. federal credit
  • Electronic Combustion Assist + Passive Catalytic Technology (patent pending) — no manual bypass
  • Ultra-low 1.1 g/hr emissions, EPA 2020 certified
  • 2.0 cu.ft. firebox with up to 29,200 BTU EPA output, 60,000 BTU peak
  • Legs or pedestal base in Metallic Black
  • Mobile home approved with inside and outside combustion air capability

Product Features

Electronic Combustion Assist (ECA)

The TN25C wood burning stove uses patent-pending Electronic Combustion Assist, powered by an A/C adapter, to optimize the burn automatically. There's no manual bypass damper to manage — the stove monitors and supports combustion electronically for consistent heat and clean operation from a single air-control lever.

Passive Catalytic Technology for 76% Efficiency

A built-in catalytic combustor reignites smoke and unburned gases at lower temperatures, delivering 76% HHV efficiency and just 1.1 g/hr emissions. This passive-catalytic design is what makes the TN25C one of the cleanest, most economical wood stoves in its class — and what qualifies it for the 30% U.S. biomass tax credit.

Optional Battery Backup

Because the ECA system runs on power, the TN25C accepts an optional battery backup. If household power is interrupted, the battery keeps the combustion-assist electronics running so your stove continues operating cleanly and efficiently — valuable peace of mind in winter outages.

Air Wash System for Clean Ceramic Glass

A built-in air wash directs combustion air across the ceramic glass, keeping it clear for a full view of the fire. The gasketed cast iron door and 10-gauge steel construction seal in heat and stand up to years of high-temperature use.

Legs or Pedestal Design Options

The TN25C is available with either Metallic Black legs (Model 31010016) or a pedestal base (Model 31010017), letting you match your hearth setup without changing the stove's proven combustion performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the True North TN25C eligible for the wood stove tax credit?

Yes. With 76% HHV efficiency, the TN25C qualifies for the 30% U.S. federal biomass tax credit available through 2032. True North supplies a tax certificate documenting eligibility.

What is Electronic Combustion Assist?

Electronic Combustion Assist (ECA) is True North's patent-pending system that electronically optimizes the burn without a manual bypass damper. Combined with Passive Catalytic Technology, it delivers high efficiency and clean operation from a single air-control lever.

Does the TN25C need electricity to run?

The ECA system runs on a 12V A/C adapter. For power outages, an optional battery backup keeps the combustion-assist electronics running so the stove continues operating cleanly. The catalytic combustor itself works passively.

How efficient is the TN25C?

The TN25C is rated at 76% HHV efficiency with emissions of just 1.1 g/hr — True North describes it as the first single-lever wood stove to reach 76% HHV, making it one of the cleanest, most efficient stoves in its class.

How large an area will the TN25C heat?

With a 2.0 cu.ft. firebox and up to 29,200 BTU EPA-rated output (60,000 BTU peak), the TN25C is built for medium to large spaces. Actual coverage depends on insulation, climate, and home layout.

Does the TN25C have a catalytic combustor I need to maintain?

Yes. The TN25C uses a catalytic combustor (part #CC801) that should be inspected a few times per heating season and cleaned gently as needed. It's against federal regulations to operate the stove with the combustor removed or deactivated.

Can I choose between legs and a pedestal?

Yes. The TN25C is available with Metallic Black legs (Model 31010016) or a pedestal base (Model 31010017), both sharing identical combustion performance.

Can the True North TN25C be installed in a mobile home?

Yes. The TN25C is mobile-home approved when installed with a listed double-wall connector and an outside combustion air supply, and secured to the structure with the included hold-down brackets.

What size chimney and flue does the TN25C require?

The TN25C uses a 6-inch flue outlet and requires a 6-inch chimney system listed to UL 103 HT (USA) or CAN/ULC S629 (Canada), or a code-approved lined masonry chimney. Minimum system height is 12 feet from the top of the appliance.
